Echo Chamber?

On my Twitter feed I follow a few people I don't agree with much. I read articles from the opposing point of view and try to list points where I can honestly say 'they could be right' - if I can't, I pick another article, and keep going. Lao Tzu wrote that a great person "...thinks of their enemy as the shadow that they cast..."

Why do this? Because  views and arguments are like plants or stock. They tend to be stronger when they incorporate a wider range of genetic material, and weaker when subject to generations of in-breeding. My thoughts on the use of QFEs during the transition from the current regime to the proposed new law have been improved a lot through a robust debate with Murray Weatherston. We've even devised an experiment to test which of us is right - all we need now is a small wager...
