Fidelity Life set to prolong campaign

Effective contraception should be readily available for all women

GP Orna McGinn says that failure by Pharmac to fund effective contraception such as the Mirena is 'embarrassing.' McGinn launched a petition early April seeking funding "for all women who request it" and received over 3,000 signatures within a week. The high level of unplanned pregnancies in New Zealand, and associated high-levels of terminations should be considered alongside requests such as this one for more funding for contraceptives.
